(He'll also get ready. Grab his signature white hood and drape it over his shoulders when he comes out of his room at the start of the hall to meet Kaito. Poking his head in,)
[ The lights are off. A few plants can be made out in the nearby desk, and a distant wall light frames a mounted spear.
But the strongest illumination comes from Kaito himself. His pitch-black hoodie, pants, and sneakers are all decorated with strips and tabs and even laces that glow a faint yellow hue. ]
You're not going to tell me you're afraid of heights when we get there, I hope?
[ In the blink of an eye, the tags on Kaito's outfit shift to a vibrant azure. His golds follow suit. ]
I don't know. Ostriches?
[ An unfathomably strong pull follows, yanking at the cores of both not-quite-human-men. Both figures dissolve into motes of water and vanish.
Flickering images of base and nighttime Tokyo fly by at a breakneck pace, shrouded in blue light. They're flying along the streets, then over them, then further up still—until the ride comes to a sudden halt, and vision returns to normal.
It's hemkin windy up here.
Up.
A cursory glance reveals the pair to be atop one of Neo Tokyo's highest spires, looking down at dotted lights and plumes of smog. And standing across from Tsuru as if nothing had happened, Kaito dusts off his hoodie.
Blue becomes yellow again as cerulean returns to gold. ]
Ta da. We are now super breaking curfew. How scandalous.
(Always one who keeps his cool and composure, Tsurumaru loses it. This isn't what he expects at all and if he'd had a moment to prepare or knew what to expect, he would have equated this to something like traveling through the time stream back home.
He holds onto his robe that is only draped over his shoulders and looking down and around. Pale gold eyes reflect bright and colorful lights and he finds himself staring down at the flashing views of the city. When it's all over, he's still taken by what he'd seen and it takes a moment for his mind to really catch up with everything.
How wonderful. Truly. Absolutely. Completely.
Finally, he collects himself and he looks around, readjusting his robe, deciding it's best to slip it on properly than it is to wear it leisurely.)
How--
(He takes a small step forward, right towards the ledge that looks out over the city. Quietly,)
What a spectacular view.
(He may be taking this in stride... but he's still awestruck.)
[ Kaito slinks his way next to Tsuru, shut-eyed smile brighter than the moon above them. His favorite part about sharing his haunts is soaking in the emotions that they evoke in others. ]
It's no mountaintop, but this is a pretty fair ways up. The dive is great. But it can only be done at night, so as not to draw too much attention from the cityfolk.
'Course, we don't have to jump. If you just wanna sit and chat, that's fine too.
I'm just happy to be out of my tiny little prison.
(He looks out over the city, quiet and thoughtful. The wind blows at his hair and the long white sleeves of his robe flutter at his side, making the delicate gold chains clink with the movement.)
[ A hint of mischief gleams in Kaito's gaze. He starts walking to the opposite end of the rooftop. Contrary to the cityscape that they're currently looking over, this side of the building has all of the city's outer limits for a backdrop.
The straps on his outfit begin shifting color again—and this time Tsuru might just catch his eyes mid-shift, with luminous specks of blue mottling his golden pools. ]
It's a simple affair. You jump, I catch you at the bottom. You might get a little wet, but that's just part of the experience.
(Standing at the edge, he turns on his heel to face Kaito. He watches the way the other man's clothes seems to shift and change... and he smiles.
Why not show off some, too?
Holding out his arms, the sleeves of his white robes outstretched like wings, he meets Kaito's eye. It's windy up here on top of the world but the cool wind of the night shifts and gives way to something different. The air feels warmer as a new breeze picks up. Refreshing and warm, like a spring breeze, light shimmers in the air around Tsurumaru and pale-pink-almost-white petals begin to fall gathering in a storm around Tsurumaru, shimmering and glowing with divine light.
Suddenly, they scatter and the blossoms fall more gently. Tsurumaru stands in front of him, dressed in his trademark white kimono and armor.
He lets out a bright laugh, )
What's a little water to a crane?
(He understands. Or rather, he doesn't really but he's been surprised once before so why not be surprised again?)
Surprise me.
(Unafraid, he simply steps back, falling with his arms spread as if he could fly.)
...Nice transformation. It really makes me wonder just what you are, friend.
[ Kaito whistles his approval. Assuming that outfit shift isn't a style module trick, the armor is impressive. What era is it from...
Oh, right. A chef's favorite (or least favorite) two words: surprise me. And he's off, swan (I mean crane) diving off the building. Kaito grins—and vanishes again.
The trip down this towering building is both a breakneck rush and a scenic jaunt, depending on your mindset. But in both cases, the ground fast approaches. There might be just enough time for a sliver of doubt to cross, or maybe not, but Kaito eventually appears. Blue light coalesces at ground zero, with the dragon holding both hands up as he forms a rectangle over his face with thumbs and forefingers.
Water flows smoothly out just a blink later, molding itself into a wide liquid canvas underneath Tsurumaru. The instant his body makes contact, it becomes a bit more apparent that the 'sheet' is actually more of a 'trampoline'. His body dips down several yards, but never quite reaches the ground. It's strange, being both wet, elastic, and extremely durable at the same time. Almost like...
...slime???
Well, either way, what goes down must come up—and the force absorbed by Kaito's trampoline construct catapults the crane back into the air at speeds rivaling his descent. The acceleration reaches its peak right as his body crests the building—and as if it was planned the entire time, he falls back onto the roof in a smooth motion, right in front of a waiting, smiling Kaito. ]
He falls at breakneck speeds and wonders how long it would take to hit the ground. It's certainly the longest fall he's ever experienced and he can feel his thoughts racing with his descent. A hundred thoughts per second, all too fast to even really process, the top of the tower getting farther and farther and the moon
The moon shining down from above, like a giant eye watching him.
He laughs.
Maybe it's about halfway down that he closes his eyes and just takes int he gravity of the situation. His body hits something soft and it's the that he opens his eyes. Everything sounds different down here without the roaring of the wind. Everything sounds so close now...
He can feel the elastic surface tension and he knows what's going to happen next. He takes to the air again and with all the grace of a bird, he takes flight again. Turning his body in the air, regaining control of his situation in just a few seconds, knowing exactly what he needs to do to stick his landing. That same light air from before returns and he seems to use it to slow the last few seconds of his landing so he can land one step at a time, arms still outspread.
It's quieter up here than it is down there. He opens his eyes and just readjusts his robes, all disheveled from the fall. Calmly, he smiles...)
